Dr. Desiree T. Hopping

Dr. Desiree T. Hopping is a Board Certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist.

She is a graduate of Rice University and the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Hopping is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Her specialty is Binocular Vision and visually related learning disabilities, especially ocular tracking disorders. Dr. Hopping has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1977 and the American Academy of Optometry since 1984. She is also an active member of the Texas Optometric Association.

Dr. Hopping is a Past President and an active board member of the Foundation for Education and Research in Vision (FERV) and is an associate member of the College of Vision Development (COVD). She is a founding member and past president of the Rice Alumni in Medicine where she currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer of that group and coordinates the Houston receptions and projects. She has given numerous lectures on vision perceptual disorders, dyslexia, and other visual and learning problems. She served as President of the Bay Area Pilot Club on two different occasions and served as President of the Friendswood Rotary Club from 2020-2021 where she is still a member. Dr. Hopping also directs the Vision and Learning Center @Hopping Eye Associates, and is a devoted mother and grandmother.
